Dog Walking

Exercise is a vital part
of every dogs life!

FIsh need to swim, birds need to fly, dogs need to walk!

***Dogs have a lot of energy that needs to be burned off otherwise it can turn into destructive behaviors. Interactive toys and chew toys can help (but isn't too good for their digestive system if swallowed) but what they really need is exercise. In the warmer months it is better to do this in the early morning or later in the evening. Whatever you do, it is better to do it together as it will be a wonderful bonding moment between you and your dog.

Exercise, discipline, then affection, in that order is the key to a happy dog. When you sign up your dog(s) for daily or weekly walks, you are giving them a chance to get out of the house or yard and burn that excess energy that has been storing up all week. Some breeds are laid back and have low energy and don't necessarily need to be exercised a lot, but all dogs regardless of breed thrive when they go out and roam like their instincts drive them to do (hence why some dogs constantly escape confinement AKA the yard).

Walking is the best way to really bond with your pet while also burning energy and establishing your role in the pack (hopefully thats the leader position). Dogs being pack oriented animals do best on walks when their human takes the lead and sets the pace. If you don't they usually end up just sniffing and marking(urinating or defecating) through out the entire "walk". In this case you are not going for a walk with your dog, your dog is walking you. A normal structured walk consists of simply and only moving forward. Not zigzagging, pulling, and going anywhere but forward.

We specialize in proper walk training or what we like to call the 'art of dog walking'.
